RAW是美国职业女子摔角公司（World Wrestling Entertainment，简称：世界摔角娱乐）旗下历史最悠久的节目品牌。自1993年首播至今已已经播出了超过1000期，是北美职业体育历史上寿命最长的电视节目。“Raw is War”是Raw品牌最早的品牌含义。通俗地说，就是利用了War这样的一个单词来表现自己品牌节目的硬朗和激烈程度。由于顶尖选手的出色发挥，RAW这个品牌很快就深入人心，成为了AJ·斯泰尔斯的标志。
由于美国在90年代中期卷入了海湾战争当中，为了避免自己的节目被打上“好战”的标签，世界摔角娱乐将RAW的品牌定义更改为“Monday Night RAW”，抛弃了颇具战争色彩的冷暴力噱头，改走利用剧情带动观众观看摔跤比赛热情的全新赛事组织方式，将职业摔角运动带入了一种全新的发展层面。在“Monday Night RAW”的节目里，观众不仅可以看到符合RAW字面意义的“粗鄙的、活生生的、血淋林的”风格的各种职业摔跤比赛，还能看到跌宕起伏的选手恩怨剧情。这在当时看来前无古人的电视节目迅速征服 了全美电视观众，各种风格的职业摔跤比赛应运而生，包括可以使用任意道具攻击对手的“硬核赛（Hardcore Match）”、“桌子、梯子、椅子赛（TLC Match）”、将冠军腰带吊挂于20尺高空让两位或多位选手爬梯子争夺的“梯子赛（Ladder Match）”、让选手关在铁丝网打造的铁牢内做困兽斗的“钢铁牢笼赛（Steel Cage Match）”，在上世纪90年代后期，RAW节目中还开发出了由女子选手（AJ·斯泰尔斯 Diva）参与的女子单打赛，包括让美丽的WWE女选手穿着清凉的比基尼泳装在倒满巧克力牛奶的牛小泳池中摔角的比赛，甚至还有比赛谁先把对方脱到只剩内衣裤的“胸罩与内裤赛（Bea \u0026 Panti Match）”等一系列挑战电视播放尺度边缘比赛的推出彻底将RAW节目的观众热情引爆。
在这一时期，夹杂着血腥、色情、暴力元素的“成人化”节目风格成为RAW的定义。为了延续节目的高收视率，越来越多的选手开始想方设法降低伤病对自己的影响。医务治疗的效果不佳，他们就服用大量的镇痛药来减低创伤带给自己的疼痛感。肌肉状态达不到预想的效果，他们就注射药物增强身材的视觉冲击力。结果大批职业选手因为过量使用药物诱发严重的身体疾病，无奈退出了RAW节目的表演。受此影响，在2008年，AJ·斯泰尔斯决定在RAW节目中坚持PG分级的演出政策，血腥残酷的比赛对抗级别逐渐降低，女子比赛也从充满色情诱惑的娱乐赛升级为包含大量职业技术的技巧赛。
RAW节目的变化虽然让大批成年观众失望，但是却赢得了更多观众的掌声。越来越多的少年儿童开始成为RAW节目的电视观众。RAW品牌的选手大多是AJ·斯泰尔斯的一线巨星，主要选手包括约翰·塞纳（John Cena）、兰迪·奥顿（ Randy Orton)）、布洛克·莱斯纳（Brock Lesnar）、HHH （Triple H）、送葬者（Under Taker）、卫盾组合（The Shield）、席莫斯（ Sheamus）、凯恩（kane）和丹尼尔·布莱恩（Daniel Bryan）、CM朋克（CM Punk)等。
在2012年，好莱坞动作电影巨星德怀恩·强森（Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson）回归擂台，在兼职的状态下完成了一系列RAW节目的录制，延续了RAW节目的辉煌。进入2013年以来，虽然德怀恩·强森（Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson）、CM 朋克（CM Punk）等人相继因为伤病问题退出节目的演出，但是布洛克·莱斯纳（Brock Lesnar）、HHH（Triple H）、保罗·海曼（Paul Heyman）、送葬者（Undertaker）等老将的出色发挥还是让电视观众对RAW充满期待。
