新余市体育中心位于江西省新余市渝水区，2006年建成，占地494亩，总建筑面积66500平方米，总投资规模3.5亿元；是为承办江西省第十二届运动会（2006）、完善城市基础设施、提升城市品位而投资建设的重点工程，是集体育比赛、训练、办公、大型活动、休闲等多种功能为一体的大型公益性项目。

2006年建成以来先后承办过安踏集团全国男排联赛、中澳国际女篮挑战赛、全国乒乓球锦标赛预赛、全国武术套路冠军赛等20余项次国内、国际体育赛事。

总体概况

体育中心坐落在风光秀美的孔目江畔湿地公园旁，占地494亩，总建筑面积66500平方米，总投资规模3.5亿元。根据建设项目功能性质不同，体育中心由两大部分组成，一是场馆区由四场四馆组成，即体育场、游泳场、室外运动场、室外网球场、游泳馆、体育馆、训练馆、网球馆；二是体育公园区，布置在体育中心的西北角，用地面积约100亩。

场馆概况

体育场

位于整个体育广场的中心，是主要体育场馆，设计观众座位18800个，建筑面积为34283平方米。足球场由人造草皮铺设，8道预制型跑道全省一流，可承办国家级的大中型田径及足球比赛。场内设有健身房、体育室、贵宾房、宾馆，豪华包厢等，是一个多功能设施的场馆。

体育馆

坐落于体育场的西南侧，占地1800平方米，建筑面积为17814平方米，设计观众座位有3624个(含场内活动座椅420个)，设有两个电子显示屏，能举行篮球、排球、羽毛球、体操、手球等多项体育比赛。

训练馆

与体育馆相配套，同处于体育场西南侧，总建筑面积为4000平方米，训练馆为二层，底层为训练场（平时可为商务会展厅）。二层为回廊。设计观众活动席400席。

游泳场馆

位于体育场东南面，室外游泳池为长50米×宽21米，按国家标准建设，游泳场建筑面积3800平方米，设计观众座位939个；室内游泳池为长25米×宽21米，游泳馆建筑面积4300平方米，煤气供热。可承办各类世界游泳锦标赛项目，是夏季市民健身游泳的好场所。

网球场馆

位于体育场东面，室外有6片网球场，建筑面积4084平方米；室内网球馆居全省一流，馆内有2片网球场，建筑面积为2400平方米。可供高规格的网球比赛用。

特色与亮点

这里有集体育竞技、运动训练、群众健身、文化娱乐于一体‘设施良好、环境优美的大型体育建筑群，是新余市标志性体育建筑，它的设计建造以人为本，体现公益性、大众性、多样性，彰显浓厚的公益体育文化特色。
