1987-1992 四川大学华西医学中心药学院副教授

1992-2000 华西医科大学药学院教授，博士生导师，副院长，院长。

2000-至今四川大学华西药学院教授，博士生导师。

1.抗癌药物及其多药耐药的化学和机理研究。

2.具抗癌活性的新的天然产物成分（生物碱、类、甾体皂，尤其是国产乌头属和翠雀属生物碱）的分离、结构阐明及其合成；

3.天然产物化学在我国西南省区生物多样性保护、经济发展和药物开发方面的研究
