范蔚茗，1959年2月出生，博士，曾任中国科学院广州地球化学研究所所长（2006年4月至2008年11月），中国地质学会副理事长，中国岩石矿物地球化学学会理事。他在岩浆作用、地幔地球化学和大陆岩石圈构造等领域有着深入的研究，并因此获得多项荣誉，包括广东省科学技术一等奖（2006年度）。范蔚茗发表了60余篇学术论文，对华北岩石圈减薄、大别山中生代火山作用、东北地区晚中生代火山岩成因以及峨眉山市地幔柱岩浆作用等课题做出了重要贡献。
