傅小兰，女，汉族，1963年7月生，湖南人。博士，研究员，博士生导师。
现任中国科学院心理研究所所长，脑与认知科学国家重点实验室副主任，心理研究所学位评定委员会委员、学术委员会委员，中国心理学会常务理事、秘书长。

研究人在觉察、选择、获取、理解外界客观信息过程中的基本认知加工过程及其策略，研究信息的不同载体形式（文字、图形等）及其组织方式对人的知识获取（发现）过程和效果的影响，探索如何将海量的、人难以理解的、使用数据语言表述的知识，变换为简洁的、人容易理解的、可以使用自然语言（或准自然语言）与图形形式表述的知识，帮助人有效地挖掘、获取和理解海量数据中的相关知识，从而发现新的知识。
研究现代信息社会中远程协同问题解决的内部表征与外部表征及两者的相互作用机制，研究远程协同问题解决过程中的外部表征的内容、形式与结构及其作用机制，以加深我们对远程协作的分布式认知机制的理解
认知心理学。研究方向为人的认知过程以及人机交互中的心理与行为问题，主要关注人的基本认知加工操作、知识表征、认知绩效、情感计算等。目前重点研究谎言识别。
