男,博士,中国科学院武汉植物园草坪草种质资源评价与新品种选育及逆境生理学科首席研究员,硕士、博士生导师。

1999年赴美国堪萨斯州立大学(Kansas State University)从事草坪草逆境生理的研究,2003获园艺学博士学位。 2003-2004年在美国科罗拉多州立大学(Colorado State University)从事博士后研究,2004-2008年任马里兰大学(University of Maryland)研究员(Research Scientist)。2008年12月入选中科院“百人计划”。系统研究了逆境条件下的草坪草生理反应和机制,探讨了干旱、高温和盐碱对草坪草冠层和根系生长、光合速率、光合产物的分配等生理指标以及对保护性酶活性的影响;开展了逆境条件下草坪草冠层与根系衰老的生理机制研究,发现深层根系对抗逆性的主导作用;提出了限次深层灌溉、叶面喷施生物促生剂、少施氮肥等改善草坪草抗逆境的有效途径;研究了草坪草有害生物发生规律、诊断和控制技术;通过野生盐生草种质资源收集与评价,筛选优质耐盐抗旱的草坪型盐生草株系。

国内外学术刊物上发表了内容涉及上述领域的论文40多篇。其中,在美国《Crop Science》、《Environmental and Experimental Botany》、《Journal of The American Society for Horticultural Science》、《HortScience》、《Journal of Plant Nutrition》等国际学术刊物上发表论文23篇。学术会议论文或摘要17篇, 马里兰大学校内刊物60多篇,科普论文5篇,专著与教材4 部。招生专业为植物学,招生方向为草坪种质资源学和草坪逆境生理及分子代谢机制。
