泰迪熊奖(Teddy bear)是柏林电影节专门为影展中各个单元反映男女同性恋题材的电影所设的一个专门奖项，从1987年首次颁发第一届，到2005年，已经第19届。每年的主题都不一样。但一般主流媒体多对泰迪犬奖视而不见，避而不提。
1987年时，德国电影制作人Wieland Speck和Manfred Salzgeber组织了一个名为“ International Gay \u0026 Lesbian Film Festival Association (IGLFFA）”的评审委员会，创设泰迪熊奖来颁发给LGBT议题的电影。
第一位获得泰迪熊奖的导演是佩德罗－阿尔莫多瓦，得奖影片是由安东尼奥·班德拉斯演出的《La ley del deseo》。
泰迪熊奖在1992年正式成为柏林电影节官方所颁发的奖项之一，1997年非营利组织TEDDY e.V.成立，负责该奖项各种事宜。
泰迪熊奖和美国同性恋运动史有关。在上个世纪70年代的末期，美国第一代的同性恋运动者们希望通过一种方式，让别人知道他们是同性恋。他们采用的方法就是让泰迪熊成为每个人佩戴的一个物品。大家在背包上挂上一个泰迪熊，用这种方法让其他同性恋群体的人知道，他们并不孤独。泰迪熊在那一轮浪潮里起到了独特的作用。另外一个原因，每个人其实都和泰迪熊有种亲近感，它是在床上除了自己身体外，可以放置的另外的东西。而且，柏林的吉祥物就是柏林熊。柏林电影节奖项也是金熊奖，泰迪熊是电影节这家族的一个成员。
奖项
泰迪熊奖一共分为三个小项颁发：
短片类（Kurzfilm-Teddy）
纪录片类（Dokumentar-/Essayfilm-Teddy）剧情类（Spielfilm-Teddy）
目前泰迪熊的奖座，上面是一只金属制成熊，而底座则是选用柏林当地的石头。奖座上的熊原形是来自于一位同志绘画家Ralf König，并由设计师Astrid Stenzel完成雕塑。

2012年共有48部作品竞逐泰迪熊，包括开幕电影、讲述法国末代皇后玛丽·安托瓦内特生平的“再见，我的皇后”（Farewell, My Queen）；于今年初亮相圣丹斯收割好评的“点亮灯光”（Keep The Lights On）和“我的魔鬼兄弟”（My Brother The Devil）；越南和乌干达各自首部同志电影“忘返天堂”（Lost In Paradise）和“苦楚我名” （Call Me Kuchu）；以及反映中国酷儿影展夹缝求生的“我们的故事”（Our Story）。此外还有两部旧片以特别重映的形式再战柏林，分别是美国导演汤姆·卡林的“夺魄”（Swoon，1992）和我国香港特别行政区导演杨凡的“妖街皇后”（Redux Bugis Street，1995）。经过色彩渲染和画面修复后两部影片分别进入了今年的论坛单元和全景单元。
中国内地唯一参与角逐泰迪熊的“我们的故事”，记录了2001-2011十年里在国内官方的重压和封锁下，一群学生和独立影人如何用运动游击战的方式坚持举办北京酷儿影展的宝贵历史。丰富的现场影像、图片资料，以及当事人的自白，将影展背后不为人知的“我们的故事”如实道来。作为影展创始人和主席，导演杨洋在剪辑时曾写道： “2001年，当我参与举办第一届影展的时候，并没有想到自己会在这条路上走这么久。只是觉得，这个世界上也应该有一些不同于所谓主流的生活方式，以及人与人之间的相处模式。而这些不一样的生活方式和人际模式也应该被尊重，即使不能被理解。而当它们不被容许的时候，就需要为之抗争，而不是自动地妥协。”
