诺拉-琼斯以一曲《远走高飞》(Come Away With Me)获得了现场观众的热烈掌声，身着黑色晚装的她领奖时喜出望外地表示，“我简直不敢相信这是事实。我只想说在世界变得非常奇怪的这个时代里，我能够如此幸运地得到大家的赏识，我简直是太荣幸了，我太感谢你们了！”
诺拉·琼斯是著 名的音乐大师、82岁拉维-山卡(Ravi Shankar)的女儿，但在她出世前，她的父母就已分手，琼斯在接受颁奖时只提到了她的母亲秀-琼斯，对她的父亲只字未提。
老牌艺人、53岁的布鲁斯·斯普林斯汀虽然没有琼斯那样风头出尽，但也因专辑《升起》(The Rising)获得了三项大奖，“南方小鸡”(Dixie Chicks)则因专辑《家》(HOME)赢得了“最佳乡村乐专辑”等四项大奖。
最佳摇滚女歌手大奖被雪儿-克劳(Sheryl Crow)夺得，她在颁奖现场进行表演时表达了强烈的反战呼声。
