余孝其，男，汉族，1965年7月生，籍贯资中县，1993年4月参加工作，1991年6月加入中国共产党；四川大学有机化学专业毕业，博士，教授，博士生导师。

现任四川省委教育工委副书记，四川省教育厅党组书记、厅长。

主要成就

主要从事生物荧光探针、生物医学材料化学等领域的研究。共出版专著1部（Macrocyclic Polyamines:Synthesis and Applications,Published 2017 by Wiley-VCH）、参编教材和专著6章/节；发表SCI收录论文360余篇；获授权专利12项；获教育部自然科学一等奖1项，四川省科技进步奖二等奖2项、三等奖1项，四川省教学成果一等奖1项、二等奖1项。2000年被评为四川省有突出贡献的博士学位获得者；2003年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才；2006年被评为享受国务院特殊津贴专家；分别于2006年、2012年被评为四川省学术与技术带头人；2007年获得国家杰出青年基金资助；2009年被聘为教育部长江学者特聘教授；2009年入选新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选。现任中国化学会理事，中国化学会化学生物学专业委员会委员，中国化学会超分子化学专业委员会委员，四川省化学化工学会副理事长。

2022年9月30日上午举行的四川省十三届人大常委会第三十七次会议第二次全体会议，表决通过了省人民政府省长黄强向省人大常委会提出的任免案，决定任命余孝其为四川省教育厅厅长。

2023年2月，四川省第十四届人大常委会第一次会议第二次全体会议，表决通过了省人民政府省长向省人大常委会提出的任免案，决定任命：余孝其为四川省教育厅厅长。
