夏北成，男，博士，中山大学环境科学与工程学院教授、博士生导师。
・1978年2月-1982年1月湖南农业大学学习，获得学士；
・1982年-1984年获得北京大学理学硕士学位；
・1986年-1989年获得北京大学理学博士学位；
・1989年-1991年中山大学博士后流动站从事博士后研究工作。
・1984-1986长沙市环境保护研究所；
・1991-至今在中山大学环境科学研究所及环境科学系从事环境科学的教学与研究工作，任副教授、教授（博士生导师）；
・1995.10-1997.5密歇根州立大学微生物生态中心访问研究；
・1998.8-1999.8美国密西根州立大学微生物生态中心访问研究讲授课程《污染生态学》、《环境生物学》、《生态学》。
主要学术成就有生态系统模拟与控制、环境污染治理、生物修复、微生物生态学或土壤微生物克隆群落研究、城市景观与森林景观生态学。
环境科学研究领域的主要研究方向包括有环境生态学、环境生物学、污染生态学、城市生态学和景观生态学等。
近年来主持和参加的研究项目有国家科技重大专项水专项东江项目（东江水生态系统健康监测维持技术研究与应用示范）、国家高技术研究发展计划（863计划）项目（滩涂海水种植养殖系统技术研究）、国家自然科学基金研究项目、广东省自然科学基金研究项目、国家教委（教育部）研究基金、广东省有关部门及地方政府的资助项目等。
