1992年9月，邓良平等人在中山大学创办了一本有声杂志《音乐天堂》（Music Heaven），宗旨是推荐欧美热门上榜好歌。到了1994年，这本非正式出版的《音乐天堂》单期能卖200，000册。
《音乐天堂》从1992年创刊至2006年休刊，共出版近百期杂志及增刊，是国内最早普及欧美流行音乐的有声刊物，为广大音乐爱好者提供了无数欧美音乐精神食粮，在中国欧西乐迷心中享有崇高地位。在那个资料匮乏的年代，《音乐天堂》为中国欧美音乐爱好者们刻画了一条清晰的从无到有的道路。
基本上，"有音乐的地方就有天堂"，有大学生的地方就有"音乐天堂"。1994年，也是"打口青年"的黄金时代，打口碟培养了乐迷无比广泛的音乐兴趣和巨大音乐食量，只用了几年，欧美音乐近百年的潮流就被鲸吞且消化了：中国乐迷渊博的学识，随时可以牛逼哄哄地把老外吓一大跳。
《音乐天堂》自创刊以来，不断以介绍欧美音乐文化为己任，在广大青少年以及大学校园里享有非常高的声誉。音乐天堂草创时期一切都是因陋就简，包含了少量的音乐评论，在更多情况下主要是对歌手的介绍，以及歌曲的背景资料。全书为中国音乐爱好者们刻画了一条清晰的从无到有的道路。在那个资料全无的时代，人们是多么渴望音乐，多么希望听到更多更美妙的歌曲。那是一个值得怀念的时候，包含了当年人们的热爱、激情、梦想。
而今，激情将再度重燃！
1993年洪春加入并主编；
1994年底邱大立加入；
1995年7月陈寰中加入，同年洪春离开；
1996年1月邱大立离开，陈寰中主编；
1996年曾丹艳任美术编辑至休刊；
1996年张秦加入并于98年任主编，他也是历任主编中时任最长的，此后从32开本改为16开本；
2000年1月张秦离开，闫月接任，从16开本改为大32开本；
2000年4月闫月离开，杨波担任主编；
2001年试刊加VCD版本；
2001年7月 杨波离开，李文枫担任主编；
2001年9月 正式出VCD版本；
2005年11月 李文枫离开，吴振通担任主编；
2006年7月，杂志无限期休刊；
2012年4月陈寰中重组新的音乐天堂团队；
2012年7月推出试刊《Can！乐刊》；
2012年9月，团队从广东认真企业有限公司受让音乐天堂版权与商标；
2012年11月，杭州乐洋网络技术公司成立，音乐天堂全媒体成立。李文枫加盟团队；
2012年12月，杭州乐洋网络技术公司获某上市报业传媒集团公司投资；
2013年3月7日，推出《音乐天堂》iPad官方应用，同时推出全新《音乐天堂》数字杂志；
2013年3月8日，与多看阅读合作推出《音乐天堂》跨平台版本（安卓、iOS）。
