陈志明（Tan Chee-Beng），国际知名人类学家与东南亚研究专家。曾任教于新加坡大学、马来亚大学、香港中文大学，2012年9月，被聘任为中山大学社会学与人类学学院特聘教授，2013年当选世界海外华人研究学会会长。
陈志明（Tan Chee-Beng），国际知名人类学家与东南亚研究专家，1950年出生于马来西亚，祖籍永春县，1974年毕业于马来西亚理科大学，获社会科学学士，1976—1979年就读于美国康奈尔大学，并先后获得人类学硕士、博士学位。毕业后曾任教于新加坡大学和马来亚大学，1996年至2012年任教于香港中文大学，其中八年担任香港中文大学人类学系主任。2012年9月，陈志明博士被聘任为中山大学人类学系的特聘教授。
族群，文化变迁与认同；族群关系；原著民/少数民族与发展；侨乡与海外华人；华人宗教；饮食与文化。研究区域包括东南亚（以马来西亚为主）和中国（华南）。所研究的群体包括马六甲的峇峇、马来西亚的华人社群（吉兰丹州和登嘉楼州的华人、沙巴州的天津人等）、沙捞越的巴登根雅人（Badeng Kenyah）、福建泉州的巴厘省华人、香港特别行政区的印度尼西亚华人等。
陈志明教授曾发起并创办《海外华人》（Journal of Chinese Overseas）学报和《亚洲人类学》（Asian-Anthropology）学报，并负责学报的主编/联合主编多年，并先后被台湾研究院民族学研究所《台湾人类学刊》编委会、台湾大学人类学系《考古人类学刊》咨询委员会聘为委员；亦被《华人研究国际学报》、《西北民族研究》、《亚洲人类学》 、《东南亚学刊》(台湾暨南国际大学) 、马来西亚人文与社会科学学报、Anthropological Forum聘为学术咨询/国际咨询委员等。
